Once in a rare while, a young racing prodigy busts onto the scene and catches the eye of the entire motorsports industry. Many of those past young upstarts have gone on to NASCAR immortality.
At just 16 years of age, Giovanni Bromante is well on his way to being the next youthful racing superstar.
Bromante, a New York native, has come onto the racing scene like few ever have. His current efforts as a Rookie of the Year contender in the ARCA Menards Series East are a continuation of his years of success on the track.
In his first year of Super Late Model racing, battling against racing powerhouses that have been in the sport longer than he has been alive, Bromante won each of his first two starts in 2019. And these races weren’t just your average short track race – they were the prestigious Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway and the opening race of the season at the famed Five Flags Speedway in Florida.
While this early success has opened the eyes of many industry insiders and fans to Bromante’s skill, it is hardly a surprise to those who have followed the young driver’s career. In his very first Pro Late Model start in 2018, Bromante went to victory lane in the daunted Show Me the Money Series at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Alabama. It was the continuation of lots of early success for Bromante throughout his young career.
Before making his mark in the stock car world, Bromante was a champion in the Go Kart ranks since first getting behind the wheel at the age of five. Battling for state, regional, and national championships, Bromante’s talents were noticed by one of the most recognized teams in the country, Top Kart, and his success earned him a starring role in the popular “Kart Life” show that aired on truTV.
Bromante then moved to Legends Cars, where he was the 2016 Bojangle’s Summer Shootout Champion at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, a 10-week battle widely considered to be the most competitive US Legends Car event in the country.
From his first laps in a Kart to his first victories in Super Late Models and now into the ARCA Menards Series over the course of a few short years, Bromante has become one of the brightest young talents in short track racing with a clear path towards motorsports stardom.
