Giovanni Bromante locked himself into the 52nd annual Snowball Derby with a solid qualifying effort Friday night at Five Flags Speedway. The young driver put down the 14th fastest lap out of 56 cars and will roll off from that position on Sunday.
“I thought I did pretty good in qualifying,” said Bromante. “I could have maybe went a little faster if I wouldn’t have over drove my corner, but all is well and I’m excited I made it in without having to use my provisional. I feel great rolling off p14 and I have plenty of time to get to the front and I think I have a good car under me to do so.”
Now that qualifying is over, the focus for the 2019 Blizzard Series champion turns to getting his No. 81 Anthony Campi Racing machine ready for the 300-lap Snowball Derby.
“Today in practice we are going to focus on race runs,” said Bromante. “Yesterday was to get the car good for qualifying, but today we need to prepare for the big race tomorrow. The biggest keys to this race are to be patient and have good strategy to end up in Victory Lane.”
