When most kids were learning to read, Giovanni Bromante was a racing champion. At the ages of 6, 7 and 8, he won major karting titles across his home state of New York plus international events. Eventually, he moved up to more competitive series and events, winning races and championships in those.
In his very first attempt, Giovanni captured the 2016 Young Lions championship in the Bojangle’s Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the most competitive and prestigious Legend car title in the world. Most of today’s top NASCAR drivers competed in Legend cars including Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Kyle Busch and William Byron.
Competing in only his second career pro late model start with Anthony Campi Racing, Giovanni dominated the race and visited victory lane. One event prior, his first with the team, he was in the thick of the lead battle before contact sent him to the garage.
While Giovanni is a spectacular talent behind the wheel, most forget he is still a teenager chasing his dreams while enjoying life like teenagers do.
Giovanni is the perfect role model for other teens, enjoying spare time playing video games with his friends, riding personal watercraft in the ocean near his New York home, and pulling harmless, humorous pranks on his team.
Away from the track, Giovanni puts in the hours to earn the right to enjoy his off time. He assists on sites and also services equipment for the family’s landscaping business, much like how other racing legends began their careers tinkering in the family shop. In that sense, he’s a throwback to the old school.
Prior to hopping into cars, Giovanni was a multi-time karting champion, amassing nearly a dozen local, regional and national titles across the United States.
